Hello, Members of the Milpitas Historical Society!
On Saturday, May 21, 7-9 PM, the newly formed Santa Clara County Preservation Alliance (of which I helped in the creation from my position on the SCC Historical Heritage Commission) will be hosting “Preservation Award Night” at the San Jose History Park.
Santa Clara County-wide Gathering of Historical Societies, Museums and Preservation Groups
It will be a county-wide gathering of historical societies, museums, and preservation groups from Stanford to Gilroy, and all parts in-between. Our Society is a sponsor of this event, as am I personally, and we have 12 or so free admission tickets for our membership (regular admission is $15). Please let me know if you would like to come, and I will put you on the registration list.
Event and Awards Ceremony
There will be live music, a new historic film by The California Pioneers, food trucks, and the re-creation of O’Brien’s Ice Cream shop will remain open for the event as well.
Then we will have an awards ceremony celebrating the people and entities that have made great contributions toward preservation projects all over the county.
The Santa Clara County Preservation Alliance is a partnership between the Santa Clara County Historic Heritage Commission, the San Jose Historic Landmarks Commission, the Preservation Action Council of San Jose, the California Pioneers of Santa Clara County, and History San Jose.
Hope to see you there, and please let me know if you would like me to hold tickets for you!
